I think there comes a time where every singer/songwriter tries writes a song that they've always wanted to write but the process prolongs every time they sit down and try to finish it. They start with a few chords or notes that pinpoints and captures the exact feeling and impression they want to give off in the song, and some words start to magically flow out of their mouths and things actually "click". Verse 1 goes to Pre-Chorus to Chorus and then Verse 2 and then WHOOPS!
Stuck.
And this writing period bumps from a few days, to weeks, to months, and when he or she is actually finished, the artist is left with one question, "What the hell took so long?!" Maybe the feeling was all gone, maybe they got stuck halfway and jsut stopped, or maybe it just sounded like "Hit Me Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears. Nonetheless, when finished, it leaves an unsurmountable joy in the heart of the artist that ranks as high as Sunday mornings, free food, a bath after a dirty day, medium-rare steak and those almost cursory moments where you feel so damn free.
