Good question!

I'd compress first, so as to keep the original dynamics. Then EQ (so you can hear what it sounds like before effects), then effects (because they might add more volume), then normalize.
 
Another newbie with yet another question ;-)
I would like to make a CD of a live recorded tape of a heavy concert; doing the editing,
mixdown etc completely on the pc, using Wavelab. My goal is to improve the overall sound quality of the original recordings with the pluggins from wavelab, and then put it on cdr. My question is in which order should I process the audio data before/after it has been stored on the harddisk, using normalisation, equalisation, compression etc ?. (Think I should have bought Get-it-on-Cd, I guess)
