In the same league?

I know I might sound redundant, but here it goes:

These are the brief specs of my computer

P4 1.8GHz
512 RDRAM
40 gig hardrive

I am looking into the Aardvark Direct Pro 24/96 and the M Audio Omni Studio Delta 66.

Taking out the money factor, which one is better?

they are both great cards and you wouldnt go wrong with either......

Delta had 2 preamps ...the DP has 4....very similar quality.....

the DP has those DSP effects but i think you can only use them when recording and not during mixing.....

the Omni has inserts.....DP has none.....

the Omni has 2 headphone outs, DPhas one.....

many feature differences, and if $$$ isnt an issue it will come down to which one has the feautures you need....

PS....
as far as reputation, the quality of both have impecable reputations.....Delta seems to have a better driver support reputation.....

I have both sitting in my room...don't ask why. Gotta return one or the other. My OS is XP and the finalized driver for the DP isn't available. The DP seems a little more user friendly, but not for sure, yet.

of course you're right. however, the DSP effects are usable...depending on what you are doing, this could be a big plus....and the DP GUI is pretty neat....

yet , if you don't want the DSP or the GUI, or need four mic preamps, go with the OMNI STUDIO..

i should mention that the DP does have a midi input, though no onboard synth....i have used the DP to play midi keyboards with Reason on a slower p3 with negligible latency....the OMNI has no midi....though a soundblaster easily suffices for midi....

i've got the DP and the OMNI and don't plan on getting rid of either.
