I am new to home recording and am currently using my computer's stock soundcard. I have a Behringer UB1832FX-Pro and a rode NT-1. I was wanting to know what soundcard i should get to improve the quality of my recordings. Something in the $200 to 300 dollar range would be ideal. I want something that sound clean and crispy. Thanks in advance for those who help me out.

The easiest thing for you to do is go to one of the internet music retailers like www.musiciansfriend.com and search the recording section and check out soundcards in your price range.

There, I did it for you:) Read the features and figure out what you want, or may want in the future, and narrow it down to that. Outside of basic needs and budget, it comes down to everyones opinion about what they use and like...I like the M-Audio stuff.

Good luck!

I don't think it's about getting a soundcard that will improve your audio recording quality. Rather, it's about getting a sound card that doesn't limit your current set of gear.

There are plenty of things you can get in that price range, from Aardvark, M-audio, Echo, E-mu, EWS, and others. I'm guessing you'll want something with at least 4 balanced analog ins to take the feed from the main and sub outputs of your mixer...so that would be things like the Delta 44, the Aardvark LX6, the Echo Gina. Look around and make sure that other people using that soundcard are happying using it with your software recording package of choice.
