How does one go about matching up tempos of loops that are called up? I have tried just about everything, and searched through the manual. But I haven't seen anything of an answer, unless I looked over it.

Also, what causes a good number of the loops to "Pop" near the end of their play? and how can that problem be countered?

Thanks in advance.

Are you using your own loops or "store-bought" loops? If the loops are already properly "Acidized" they should conform to the overall project tempo. You can use the Beatmapper tool to change the tempo of a loop. There's another way but I can't think of it right now. I can look into it when I get home to my studio.

As for the pop, that usually indicates that the wave does not start or end at a zero crossing. You can drag the end of the loop's fade a little to fix this.

MadAudio,

Thanks. The loops that I am using are 'Store Bought'. I thought that I would try my hand at working with loops, and this program seems to have a great deal going for it. Do you use them much? I, myself, wouldn't think of composing a song that was comprised entirely of loops, but it would be nice to incorporate some of them into the workings of some of my songs.

Nate - I'm crazy busy for the next day and a half, but I'll be back with some tips for you. In the meantime, play around, experiment, and check the help menu!

Thanks pal. I really do appreciate your helpfulness.

Hey

Acid is an asskickin program.

1, Acid should automatically sync the loops.

If you are dropping a midifile in Always play at the midifiles tempo and not the loops and that way the loops will lock into the midis tempo.

If you are using a large Wav or Auido file then you need to use the beatmap function to get the peoper sync going.

If you are getting pops when looping then I always edit the loops by

1. Using soundforge and refinding the loop points if the sample allows due to its previous cutting.

2. Fading the end just a tad through soundforge and then using them only as 1 shot samples and pasting them that way, which takes more time but, Sometimes even using them as one shot samples without doing the fade through soundforge works indstead of using loop mode.

I mean I am only new with acid and I have managed so far doing it this way with little knowledge of whats under acids hood.

Regards Raver
