improving the aural 'space' of a stereo mix???

I have gotten to here I can turn out a pretty decent mix, run through a finalizer (carefully) and burn a pretty good sounding cd... now I am noticing my mixes could use more depth or stereo width.

Any ideas on how could I achieve this?
