~sorry its a myspace....

But yes, Still born was the track I did after getting advice from my buddies in the newbie forums, and I'm hoping I made somewhat of an improvement. The only problem with this new one is that the guitarist that did this used a loop station, something i was against, but yeah he wanted to use that instead of doing them individually. This is my first crack at the Glyn Johns technique, with my room semi treated.

I think there's some myspace compression issues, as i listen now it sounds a little too compressed on myspace.

But yeah if you have time and would like to feel better about yourself by criticizing a n00b please do! Im just looking to improve as anyone else would.

Thanks

cool song! Drums sound decent, but cymbals are to loud and are distorting. sounds like a case of overcompression. Sounds like your getting a little to much of the snare wires, making the drum sound a bit thin.
Very interesting original guitar tones throughout!

Thanks man I really appreciate the feedback. Cymbals have always been a problem for me, it just seems like if I'm getting the right amount of cymbal then I'm not getting enough snare from my overheads so I compensate by blasting the snare mic which always causes problems.

Thanks Again

The distorted guitars are a little bright and fizzy sounding for me. What kind of guitar/amp/mic are you using? I can hear what was said about the snare and cymbals....MySpace is not kind to most cuts but it's a reasonable representation... I'm sure that a wav file would help....

Powerhouse band with excellent energy!

I used a fender FM 212r[amp] a fender strat [mexi] and a 57 for the mic, nothing outstanding, I can't afford anything nice seeing as I'm a senior in high school without a job... not to make any excuses, I know I could be making a lot better recordings than my disaster of sonic waves I am currently producing. But thanks so much for the feedback, I need some suggestions for cymbals, I using the G/J OH technique and after starting it I liked the way the buckets sound better but the cymbals are suffering...

Thanks again

Just a reminder Still Born is the new one and everything else is old, so Im comparing Still Born to all the old ones...
