Well, I had a little time to kill this afternoon, so I made some changes to Wastelands and then replaced the previous mp3 with it. The lead guitar has been toned down to what seems to be a better level. And I've accentuated the bass a little. I also placed a small, poor sounding RealAudio file of the song at the same site, hoping I can at least get some feedback from those of you who find the mp3 too big. Any feedback on this new change would be greatly appreciated. Its still at:

Hey Ranger, sorry I took so long to reply. I checked out your 'new' Waste2 file and I think the vocals sound much better! Did you compress them while recording or later? I'm tempted to say they could use a bit more compression to even out the levels but I don't really know that much about that stuff, just guessing. As far as the guitar, I liked some of it but other parts sounded better in the first version. I know I'm not being very specific but it's been a while since I listned to it. I will get it again and give a better analysis next time if your interested. Maybe it needs a balance of both guitar parts in the right places. If you get a chance, check out my new post. I'm hoping someone can whip up a bass line to mix into the final version. keep the faith... crazyhorse

Hi Ranger,
Listened to your tune today - I didn't hear the first version, but this one sounds good.

Crazyhorse,

Thanks for checking out and commenting on the song...twice! It gets a little frustrating in that it seems as if you are not one of three or four specific members here, you're stuff won't get listened to or commented on. As you mentioned in a post elsewhere, I'm certainly prepared for any type feedback...pos or neg! I even posted a cheap, small RA file hoping that if the mp3 were too big, someone might at least comment on the RA file.

Thanks for the comments on the vocals. I used a little more compression on them and gave them a little more boost to bring to the front of the mix. I'm still trying to figure out where I want the guitars to go. If you have any ideas on the lead, I'd love to hear them!

Just downloaded your tune...will comment at your original post site here.
