Is it possible...and if so, how...to take drum, keyboard, etc. tracks from protools (Mac) and import them into a machine like a Korg or Roland? I want to record backing tracks in a studio and then bring the files home with me and put down sax on top of that at my own pace with no pressure to "get it done" fast - also I can do it 'till I like it. I don't have any recording equipment yet, but I'm looking at the Korg D16 xd with a good mic pre (maybe Focusrite) an an AT 4060 mic.

Thanks in advance.

Should be possible. Check the documentation on the Korg and/or Roland units. They'd need to be capable of uploading .wav files from the CD drive. You can export these from Protools by using the track export command menus and choosing the file format. Just make sure all of your wave files have the same starting point so you don't have to mess with lining them up in the hard disk recorder.
