Any idea if it is possible to import wave files into Cakewalk?

Also, this is not really a Cakewalk question but proabaly an easy one for someone out there. I often use a free program called "Sound Studio" to convert songs from CDs to Wav files. This program allows me to cut and paste bits and pieces of songs, and paste them into a single song. I can also do fades in and out and other simple stuff. I use this for making skating programs for figure skating clubs and Freestyle Kurs for horse dressage riders. Unfortunately, this is Mac software and I need a cheap or free program that will do the same work on a PC. Any ideas?

You can import a .wav file into Cakewalk or any audio multi tracking/ editing software running on a PC. If you want a free/cheep one, look at n-tracks.

importing wave files

Here's a quick wave-file import step-by-step:

1. Select the track you want to import your wave file to.

2. Go to 'Import Audio' in the 'File' pull-down.

3. You'll get an 'Open' dialogue box; just go find the wave file you want to import and open it, and it should appear in your selected track.

Hope this was helpful!
