I have the sorriest crap but i get the tightest sound,i've been recording now for about 1 year im 17y/o and have made a little over $18,000 in this year recording local bands, and this is all i have 1.)a computer 2.)a 12 channel mixer "witch is mackie"3.)the PGdrum mic pack 6 mics incluting the hoverheds.....AND 4.)A BLUE DRAGONFLY VOLCAL MIC i love it....this is all in my DINNING ROOM perfect accoustics. and i built a vocal room veryvery small sound proof okkkkkkkkkkk thats the rocording stuff, now i have a mapex orian cassic for drums and a godin glx for guitar and i use cakewalk so i've spent about 4000 of my own money on this and made it back in a year well i guess i dont have anything that sorry but the drum mics were cheap about $250 for the whole pack and $399 for the mixer and $799 for the dragonfly.................................so what im trying to get at here is that a studio is one of the best investments i have ever "started" to get in to. And suggest it to those who read this.

thank you,
matt

So let’s hear some of it. Post something in the mp3 mixing clinic for all of us to enjoy :)

(If you already have, never mind)

BTW…daily stretching exercises will help with that tightness ;)

Welcome.

Not a specific attack on Matt, but does it seem to others that the 17 year olds on this board seem more like 7 year olds?

Please inform us as to how you made $18k in a year with that setup. Are we talking US or Australian dollers? What do you charge per hour?

me too, am tight i am

i am also so tight.

this year i made $100 recording local bands!

many of whom are on pretty good indie labels. but their recording budgets? $0!

what is most sad is that i dont really mind. i enjoy recording enough that $100 a year seems not too bad.

If you made $18000 a year, that comes to about $350 a week. That's a boat load of local bands. Hmmmmmmmm.......

You'd have to skip a lot of school to have time to spend that much time in your "studio".....

Why do folks indulge us in their great fortunes and then turn their backs on us? I would love to record at your studio mattygorilla! How much an hour?

Wait a minute.... Is this Nubby's twin?

You're not supposed to figure in the amount of money you made selling weed to guys in bands.

H2H

seriously,

Dude you are lucky! i've been recording for almost 4 years now (i'm 14) and have not made one dime! Tell me your secrect please! $18,000 a year is enough to support you and your family, that you someday will have. i would love to hear your music! or better yet, see some photos of your studio!

North Georgia my man, where i live you can buy a decent tralor for about $5000, a cool look'n car (Late 70's "bandit" car) for $3000 and spend maybe $30 aday to eat with and $30 a week for gas. It's true.

And let's not forget about that good old' Dollor Store! :D

I hate to burst your bubble, but I had the misfortune of downloading some of their stuff, and if that's indeed your work, then all I can say is keep practicing, my friend. :D
