It rules for a snare sample.

The guitar, however, does not rule.
 
That sucks ass, no nothing. It's a 20 second clip of you with a hideous guitar sound playing one ripped off riff over some drum samples.

C'MON PEOPLE, where's the beef?!

Actually, it sounds better than some of the amp tones I have heard people rave about.
 
Yeah, I've heard some pretty good stuff come out of a 10-watt practice amp with a 5-inch generic speaker.


But the guy playing it, the guy recording it, and the guy mixing it were WAAAAAAAY better than this.....
 
i liked thje guitar tone to it. i thought the snare sound to it was pretty good. got any other songs posted on the web?

The guitar was recorded compressed actually. Just a digitech distortion pedal and some compressor from a mixer. Otherwise thats it.

It's called being smart and makeing the sounds on the access virus.. and knowing how to properly arp them. Yes MAKE them, not presets.

Perhaps you don't understand how much work and effort actually goes into makeing techno music...

Don't let them get to you... Some of them can be FUCKERS! I have experienced it first hand.

About your Mudvayne cover... I agree with everyone that the guitars need to be beefed up a bit. Go back through the mix and add some extra mids and cut the highs a bit. That should do the trick nicely. If they come out sounding weak, boost the bass a little.

As for the drums, I'm not really sure what you used but they sound pretty good. I don't use "real" drums, myself (setting up the mics is a pain in the ass). I usually use drum pads or if I need some other sounds, I'll use my keyboard... Anyway, the drums sound great.

And, as for your 'trance' music... I have heard better... But I've also heard a lot worse.

I just don't like it when people who don't have a clue what they are talking about when it comes to making trance/techno music at all. I think it's retarted especially if they don't make it themselves. It's still takes skill, it's not the best, but im working my way there.

Hehehe... the Motif sounds like loops anyways. And as far as the Virus is concerned... well, let's just say my Prophet 5 isn't in danger of being sold any time soon. :)
