I listened to all three songs. I did like ...."Way They Do My Life" and "16 Bars".

I must admit, I have not listened to much of this genre...just what my kids have played. I have been known to make a smartass remark before about "rapcrap" to my kids before too...but am finding out more and more, that there are a lot of styles and some to which I like. I guess my biggest dislike of the genre, is the seemingly constant use of foul language....not that I don't use it myself or others I am around....I just don't really care for it over and over in the music I listen to on a regular basis, whatever the genre..just like death metal...I love the instrumental part, but can't handle the vocals!! Doesn't mean the genre sucks though. I don't even like the polka...but to some it is the bomb. :D That is me though and everyone has their likes and dislikes.

I would like to be a bit more familiar with it all though. I have read several heated debates on the subject. I may never love this genre, but still respect it and those who create in it. I hope you don't mind my questions.

I am learning that, what we are not familiar with, can too easily be written off, therefore we miss the opportunity of a growth experience.

What is the big controversy on these genres?

What are the ingredients of a Rap song?

What seperates Rap from Hip Hop?

Are the two interweaved in some songs?

Thanks guys.

True :)

Hey, we are all here for the music. Our genre's may be different, but the heart of it still the same....

I listened to "Mind On Money". I liked it a lot.
