Hi
As the subject line said ... I'm new around here. Saw I could post links to my music, thought that was the best way to introduce myself.

Sun : lofi sounding - recorded in cuebase - mixed in Nuendo - mastered in ... eeeh - I don't remember ... T-Racks I guess
kind'a rock thingie - don't freak out just because you don't understand the lyrics - it's Danish. Thought it would be a good idea since I'm a Dane .... but the Danish record industry are loosing big money right now ... bummer

Limbo : just as sun

Rock-Trance : thought I'd better try out some of the soft synths that came with my sound card, being a guitarist that was a hard one :) recorded and mixed in nuendo - mastered in sound forge if I remember things right

please leave a comment if you feel like downloading some of it

it soundes well mixed.... too say the least.
what type of outboard equipment were you using for these tracks? the vocals on sun sound very nice. of course im listening on my headphones so i cant get a real accurate idea of whats going on. good work and i am looking forward to hearing more.

thanx for the comment :)
eeeh - outboard gear. I ran the guitar and bass through a sansamp to TC - Electronic G-Force through my mixer ( mackie CR 1604-vlz ) to a amp simulator on my soundcard ( pulsar ) I'd prefere not running it through the mixer, but as I don't have a patch bay that would be too much cabling on/off. The vocals are done with a Beyer DynamicTG-X 60 - better for micing up my guitar, but I'm not spending a lot of money on a mic dedicated for vocals ..... being a guitarist ... and a poor one :)
the rest was done in the pc

Pretty cool stuff. I really like the vocalist, but there is some sibilance on the vocal in Sun that bothers me. Not as bad on Limbo. Good use of panning for effect and the overall balance is well thought out. The guitar tone on Sun is good, although I think I would have gone for a little smoother sound on Limbo. Nice work overall.

Sounds good to me. And the vocals sounded good to.
I liked the last song, very funky :)

thanks guys .... I must admit I don't know the meaning of the word "sibilance" but I'll look it up :)

my 2 cents

Wow, what a great vocal ! Cool style. cool sounds. Man, what a great voice. You said you are a guitarist ? Which do you do better, sing or play guitar ? I just can't get over how great the vocal is. Good work, cool stuff, Peace, Silver

Re: my 2 cents

*LOL* thanks for the review silverhammer. It's not me singing, actually I'm a guy :) ...... and my guitar playing are a lot better than my singing ... ( at least I hope so )

Nice!

Good balance, good effects, good sound, good music...

Good stuff.

Keep it up. :)

Mirrored piccolo... very cool. Great hook, too. (rock-trance)

Your root directory reminds me of the Comedy Central joke that whats-his-bucket did on The Daily Show. "Vitamin Ceeeeeeeeelebrity!" heh heh

Yeah, chick's got some interesting vocal patterns there. Ditto on the "sibilance" thing. I don't know what that means, but if it's anything like Bjork or that Cranberries chick, tyg.

Seems like she jumps from style to style on occasion. Interesting stuff, don't get me wrong. Just not my cup (as it shatters) of tea.

Great production, btw.

Very nice

Great sounding stuff, vocalist kind of reminds me of Nina (99 red balloons?).

Sibilance, is when S and T sounds in the vocals overload, or are distorted and come out like SHHH or TiSHH... if you know what I mean. Maybe from singing too close to the mic, no wind screen etc.

Do you have a picture of the vocalist?? ;- )

Ah. In that case, I was referring to the timbre of her voice and the accent, which sometimes changes. Not a big fan of that Bjork sound.

Pretty cool stuff. I especially like the vocals & vocal effects in Sun. The electronics sound good as well. I didn't care for the hair band guitar though.

The vocals in Limbo were great as well, very professional. The electronics were very good as well. The guitar sounds thin to me, though the playing was cool enough.

Rock trance was very cool indeed. I especially like the panning of the snare and the lofi effect.

Good work and welcome aboard!

Thanks to you all for replyin' to this thread. The drums in Rock Trance is made by slicing up several loops from Niel Conti's Funky Drums From Hell, placing different patterns L/R and pan them. I had to move the snare around sometimes, as he's not playin' with click :)
The singer in the other tunes : oh that's what sibilance means, yes you're right, had a bit of a fight with that, tried several de-essers, EQ'ed a lot, nothing did the trick. Maybe it's because of the mic which is better for micing up instruments than singing.
"Hair band Guitar" *LOOOOOOOOOL* - never heard that one before :)

It seems a simple solution to said sibilance should be to supply a screen for singing.

And if she can say that (or this) sentence "sans sibilance", the singing situation is solved! :D
