I'm looking for the sound and the chords that were used on dj shadows midnight in a perfect world or the sample from The Madness Subsides.
the piano sound at the beginning track, which sounds like an organ is what im looking for. ive tried using synplant to rectreate the sound but its never quite right. and as its from a chord it doesnt sound right when i try and play it as a chord, obviously. i also tried 'electrik piano' and an ableton phaser. set to pretty much default but doesnt sound right.

i also put it into ableton harmony and melody midi converter and it sounds almost right but misses notes at the end.

i also want to exetend the sound so it plays for longer, looping the sample doesnt sound right.

any ideas?

An easy one. It is a rhodes piano with chorus and a bit of dirt and maybe some extra flanging. So basically, a tine based electric piano. Loads around, but you will have to play it, i doubt you can find a ready made loop. What is being played though, isn’t that complicated.

OP, to add what Rob stated. Find the sound, then is you can't play it, take the sample and get an analog to MIDI converter. Edit it to sequence it the way you want (timing, velocity, spend some time with it) and you can then manipulate it with much more flexibility than a sample.

thank you. i knew it was a rhodes piano btw. should have explained that one

i did try that with ableton. do you mean a thrird party analog to midi converter? ive got the sound pretty close but i still cant get the midi right.

these 2 midi files need to be played at the same time or merged.

Ah, the organ like Rhodes?
It just sounds like you don't have the right one.
Crow hill just released a really good vsti - £29, and I bought it even though I have lots of others. It's really good. Once you can drive it with MIDI, it will do what you want very cheaply.

its ok ive just got the sound just right

There are some notes missing in that midi file, but with a rhodes sound and extra effects it sort of works

If I get a chance, I'll do it for you - but I'm not in the studio, so it may be a couple of days.

I have Ableton and it does pretty good, not perfect but it will get you close enough to edit it and clean it up.
