im joining the ranks

After a long spell with cubase sx3 i fancy trying reaper to see if it will further my understanding of its limitations and triumphs.
Has anyone else worked these two softwares before ?
Any advise would be gratefully recieved
xp ibm think centre 1.6ghz single 1 gig ram.
m audio delta 66
Yamaha mu90 midi module
I'm sure I'll have many more questions later.

Little low on the RAM there, but it'll work assuming things go right!

I used Cubase 4 Essential for a long time and tried Reaper about a year ago. I haven't used Cubase since.
