Nothing more..... thats it folks, move along, nothing to see here. Just establishing a thread so I don't have to travel all across Johns barn .....or Samanthas pumpkin patch..... finding info and ask questions about it. :drunk:

Get one of the Cubase POWER books.
It will help you tremendously.

LOL! You won't get any perverted cheap DAW **** from me! I'm one dood who will always help. If I am able anyway.

Getting 6?

LOL! I forgot that 'P.O.R.N'. is replaced by the much more disruptive '****'. FUCK! What is the big deal? LOL!

Don't know yet. Is that the latest version ? I was checkin ebay and saw quite a variety of prices for Cubase stuff. Still researching it....

Get the trial of Cubase 6 from Steinberg and see if it is for you. Or purchase an interface that comes with an LE version. Cubase can be frustrating for some. I think it depends on how your particular brain works. I cant do math in my head, but I can visually lay out a tile floor square with walls. Some can multiply with ease and cannot set a picture straight to save their lives. I don't like pictures, math, or tile. But I have to work with all of them eventually. Learning a DAW is similar. Most all of the big named ones will give you the same results. It's how you get there (that works for you) that will make you comfortable.

Reaper seems to be the preferred software lately, but I am hooked on the base (not free-base).

The wiring in our brains will make some applications easier for us to use than others. "User-friendly" is a personal, not a universal, construct. If our way of thinking about stuff matches the way the programming team thinks about stuff, we are likely to find their products easier to use.

Well, one thing I've noticed is, this home recording stuff is a whole new language. I don't know what you all are talking about most of the time  :D

You will soon enough. Whatever DAW you end up with, you will find plenty of translators here. And some do speak English as well!:D:D:D

Digital Audio Workstation. Cubase is a DAW. Reaper is a DAW as well as the bringer of death. :)

I like cubase. However, as with all DAW's, there is a HUGE learning curve accompanied by a ton of aggravation and frustration. The hardest part with Cubase is getting your interface to play nicely so you don't have to think about it anymore. Once you get that done, then using cubase is fairly intuitive... as is most DAW's.

That learning curve can be very intimidating.... :(

The language barrier has been easier for me to cross with speakers of Spanish and Cantonese than with digital recorders ! When I first started buying software in 2004, I would ask the technical assisstants if they could explain something to me the way they would to a 9 year old that knew nothing about computers. You know, none of them could, except Dave at GMedia {or maybe it was Chris}. Mind you, kids are even worse ! :D

:laughings: Well, at least I know I am not alone.
