I'm getting a hum when i record....

I'm running Cubase Le6 with an Audiobox 44VSL. I recently purchased a Dean Razorback guitar to record with. The guitar has a horrible hum. I, at first, believed the problem to be a ground issue within either the guitar, the interface, or the house. I talked to a buddy who suggested a direct box. Any suggestions? I'm trying to get as many possible solutions before i go buy anything.
 
Hum is normal. Are we talking a crazy amount or just the normal high gain hum you would get with any amp?

Channels 1 and 2 take instrument level so I don't see how a DI would make your hum issues go away.

Try a different cord for the guitar. Cheap cords or ones more than 15 feet long are susceptible to noise.
