This may get a little bit syrupy but here goes...

I've forever wanted a RtR but always backed off at the last minute. I allowed the usual naysaying reasons to sway me. No need to go into detailing those because y'all here are the ones I credit with pointing out that many of the naysaying reasons are essentially fallacies.

So this post is a Thank You of sorts to the veterans/loyals here in the Analog forum and a "Go for it!" aimed at other fence-sitters.

I was told I would not be able to find tape. I found tape within 30 minutes. I was told that the tape hiss alone would repulse me and render the recorder useless for any kind of serious work. I'm no GoldenEars but at 7.5 ips with nothing but whispers for signal I have to crank the volume on the playback system purty high to hear hiss. Cranked much higher than I'd normally listen to program material. Haven't even tried it at 15 ips yet. Maybe they'll be right about the editing part. We'll see. I started a thread on that.

Previously the electric bass was the hardest instrument for me to get to sound good. Holy Sh*t! It sounds like buttah! :D

Thanks a ton y'all!

Sounds exactly like me years ago when I switched over from Digital to Analog. Yeah, most likely you got those negative remarks from people who bought into the digital craze.

Btw, I think I speak for all Analog guys here when I say: You're very welcome! :)
