Hi,
I'm thinking of buying either the E-MU 1212M or Echo Mia MIDI for my XP Home system.
Both of these interfaces state that at least 128 MB of system RAM is required. I have 256 MB of DDR RAM installed (which I'm planning to upgrade soon), but I'm curious as to why it needs at least 128 MB of RAM to operate? Do they recommend at least 128 MB to operate the actual interface or the included recording software? Will 128 MB of my free RAM be drained, or does it just need a working space of at least 128 MB? Keep in mind, I'm not a hardware person, so please bear with me.
I basically only need an interface with 2 1/4" outputs & 2 1/4" inputs to connect my studio monitors to my computer and to input a microphone. I probably wont be using any of the included software.
Thanks!
