Im a Very Happy boy...SCORE!!!!!!

Just wanted to share this because Im kinda beside myself right now.
I just got back from picking up a really nice find.
A couple days ago I was browsing the online classified and came across a Tascam 246.
I have always wanted one of these so I responded to the ad and asked the guy if he could hold onto it until today,which he kindly did.
I drove the 45 minutes and when I arrived was led into a room where I saw the 246 set out on a table.As soon as I saw it, a huge grin swept across my face that I couldn't wipe off the whole time I was there.This thing is mint in the original box,plastic bag and styrofoam.
He said he bought it 7-8 yrs ago,opened the box,then put it away.
He didn't even use it!!!.So its practically new and unused.Nice and shiny,no scratches,nice unused heads and original manual and colour brochure.He also included a patch bay,2 snakes and a brand new 4 pack of TDK typeII cassettes.
All this for $100 Canadian. Very Happy indeed!!

That is EXCELLENT!!!

The 246 is my FAV cassette 4-track Portastudio and you got the 246 of the century as far as I'm concerned...CONGRATULATIONS!

Oh, wow, looks beautiful and $100 picked up is a steal! It's also my favorite cassette 4 track, the 244 being 2nd. I wonder if the rubber is still good on this pup. If it isn't, no worries as it's a snap to service. I've done it. I marvel at your excitement 'cause I was like that some years back, had about a 5 year window where I accumulated quite a bit of stuff, every time feeling like a kid on Christmas. Since then, life happened and I had to take it a few notches down... ;) PS: Keep it covered when not in use. :)

Thats what I was thinking too.It runs nice and smooth.Tried a couple older cassettes from my other 4 trackers.No problems.
Everytime I look at it,Im wondering if I should even touch the thing;)

Its gonna get some good use,and be well taken care of.
Now if you all would excuse me,I must go and stare at it some more.:p
