Hey, new here, 1st post. I hope i can hang with yall. I'm already part of too many boards. But hey, whats 1 more?
Ok, my issues. Well they all started when i was 13 and this young gal aske me to.... aww we'll skip all those problems....
My recording problems started when i first tried, seriously....
Here is what i own.
Apms.
A marshall VS265 tube preamp soilid state power 130 watt stereo chorus. It has 2 L outputs and 2 R outputs. One cab extentoin for each and one D.I. Filtered Outs for each.
A Line6 Flextonell, very basic model 1x12, but worth it. Only way i'll ever record out of this thing is by useing the FX loop out... I bet there are some guys out there cringing at that thought.
Guitars
Ol' good and faithful Ibanez GAX70, great guitar. Unbeatable by anything in it's price or double for that matter. IMO
Boxes.
I have some boss stuff lying around, just stomp boxes. No nice processors or anything like that. I also have some ibanez stomp boxes around. I also have a Dunlop MXR "Blue box" That thing ROCK beyond belief.
Umm and the pc
Heehee, this is my toy. It blazes. I run most level on UT03 at about 125 FPS some level as high as 210. But my audio is onboard, kinda sucks, but it's 6.1 onboard wtih Sipif (i can NEVER remeber how it's spelt) Basically consists of a line out line in and a mic in.
So, why do i have trouble?
I'm using the DI outs on my marshall into the mic in on the pc. I can't even seem to get any signal through,
I'm just using a starndard instument 1/4 cable into a 1/4 1/8 sterea adapter. So i should at least get mono into the pc. but i don't.
So if anyone has any ideas/suggestions just let me know. I'll be glad to hear that i have to spend some money just to get this working.... it doesn't need to be like cd quality, just good enough to bear easily.
Another thing i should mention, i'm using MP3 recorder XP, it's a cheep piece of software. But it works. And i can't get audio with that program or the windoz recorder.
PS. i know i'm getting signal, because my recordings have static, just not and sound from the line.... And i KNOW computers. I'm a freelance programer. I know my stuff, and my audio settings should be fine. For as much as i know.
