I loved it. These guys are great. Drums ,guitar, singing, GREAT. I used to play drums for a band that played this song "the trees," and it sounded NO WHERE NEAR half as good as this sounds.

AWESOME! This is the best version of "THE TREES" that I have ever heard in my life. (other than Rush themselves.)

Incredible..... thx

Good lord! These guys sound almost identical to RUSH.The singer sounds just like Geddy Lee.The drummer nailed Tom Sawyer.Great stuff!

Fucking Awesome..

Im not even gonna mention the few recording flaws I heard.. The band made up for them totally..

This totally blew me away...

AWESOME!

probably one of the coolest attempts at cover music I have heard..

That drummer is awesome!....

I was thinking.. ok, he's ok but Im gonna hear a few missed hits or something..

He did Neal's written part exact.. and I mean EXACT...

Amazing...

This is THE BEST tribute band, I have ever heard...

It's great that they're able to play tunes from their favorite band like this.......

It has to be pretty cool for Rush too!!!!

Very good. Indeed, it does sound like Rush. I noticed they have five guys though...:p

My Band is also working on a Rush Cover tune, "La Villa Strangiato". I will post it in a while. The catch; we do it on Violin, viola and Cello!! It is gonna be pretty cool (we are all pro's).

Thanks for the link, I enjoyed these guys.

The Trees! Hemispheres! Gosh!Hey thanks man! Absolutely Fantastic 2112!!! Bravo!!! I'm totally floored! What a coincidence, I was just watching an old live video "Show of Hands" with an old friend earlier this evening. We used to be in the same band together in our teens pretending to be Rush then! It was fun but we never found the right drummer or the singer LOL! I remember jamming along with the vinyls of Moving Pictures ruining 3 copies of it along the way too. I own every album issued by the RUSH including the first one with what's his name? John Rutsey who I understand left RUSH for a career in body building. It's amazing what you guys just did! Wow!

Anyway, here's some updates on what RUSH is up to these days;
Rumors have been floating around the mists of the Internet for the last few days
about the upcoming Rush album. The rumored title is "Vapor Trails", and the
single will be "One Little Victory". After hearing these "rumors", I received
an email that has to additional tidbits: it includes song titles, one of which
is "Ghost Rider", the title of Neil's book to be published this spring, and
"Freeze" (Pt. IV of Fear)!!!!! Thanks to Sven R. who sent me this email:

"... today I received some news about the new Rush-Album - and here they are:

Albumtitle: Vapor Trails

Tracks: One Little Victory, Earthshine, Ghost Rider, Peacable Kingdom, Secret
Touch, How It Is, Vapor Trails, Ceiling Unlimetd, The Stars Look Down, Freeze
(Pt. IV of "Fear"), Sweet Miracle, Nocturne, Out Of The Cradle)

VOE: 13.Mai 2002 tbc

The album is now in mastering-phase!

All Tracks are written by Lee and Lifeson Lyrics once again by Peart. Produced
by RUSH and Paul Northfield, mixing by David Leonard and Mastering by Howie
Weinberg.

The Artwork (in Process) is created by Hugh Syme

The first single will be "One Little Victory"

A US Tour is planned for June to October and maybe afterwards Europe!"

Cheers!

These guys are good....

My appreciation of Rush gets me through Tom Sawyer but that's about it.

I can't escape the fact that Geddy Lee just flat out sounds like a pussy.

I deserve that ;)

In fact I knew that was coming from somebody, but I just can't think of a better word. The weird thing is, he doesn't sound so weak to me in Tom Sawyer compared to any other Rush songs I've heard...maybe its just the song as a whole. What other Rush songs might I be able to appreciate?

2 of my good friends in high school (in the mid/late 90's mind you) were big Rush fans, and for a year and a half I thought the lead singer was a chick. Honestly.

Here's a quick 5:cool:

1- Cygnus X-1 from "Farewell to kings"
2- Xanadu " " " "
3- Natural Science - "Permanent Waves"
4-2112 - (the whole thing)
5-"In the end" - "Fly by Night"

2112 TRIBUTE BAND

I want to extend thanks to all the kind words on here, thanks to spacedye, especially.....to cover Rush is a challenge, yes, and we do it as a 5-piece, which some people might frown upon, and that's OK with us too!

5 is a bit more entertaining to us, and frees us up a bit to have some fun instead of doing pedal-dances. I am a guitar player, and could've formed a 3-piece, but then Geddy does not play lead guitar, and conversely, Alex does not sing, so it was all ready lost for me if you know what I mean...
Now I enjoy trying to get people involved in the show with singing along, etc, quite hard to do as a 3-piece, and a 3 piece is more of a "see how many things I can do at once like Rush does"...I have NO PROBLEM with at all too, we just wanted to take it up a bit in the "entertain a live audience" aspect, so I hope that explains a bit on our 5-piece reasoning...plus we are too good of friends to kick each other out to make it 3!!!!

Check out our website, www.RUSHTRIBUTEBAND2112.com, and maybe see a live show now that we project videos like Subdivisions synched to our performance...tricky to do but well worth it!

Again, it is so satisfying to know that in the year we have been together, there have been many 'fans' to lend support when we think that we suck.....

THANKS!!!!

Until next time,
Tony
(vocals 2112)

PS, VOXVENDOR, drop the good word up in the Great White North for us, eh, we submitted our demo to RushCon2002 (rushcon.org) July 13 in Toronto hoping to be the one band chosen to travel up there and perform !!

OK, I listened to Natural Science, some live version of Cygnus X-1, Xanadu, In the End, and clips of 2112.

I'm 1/5 out of those - Xanadu is pretty cool.

I did find a cool live version of Tom Sawyer though! ;)

I guess the other stuff is lost on me...I can't deny these guys are talented, though.

TONY

hey,
i'm glad you finally checked in here........ your comment about fans lending a hand when we think we suck was very funny. i personally think that to even make an attempt at covering a rush tune takes talent. but to cover it perfect, incredible. you know you guys have my vote.... there was even a guy who covered "mood for a day" from yes on here. another talented attempt. it can be heard at this link:
https://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?s=&threadid=46446
i think im going to make an attempt at a cover. i just dont know which one i should do because i like so many songs.
i could take the easy way out and cover one of my own songs back from when i was in "sorrow", but i guess that would be cheating... LOL!!!!!
