My make-shift teenage recording (computer room) studio is on a tight budget. In the $100 price range, would you choose the SM57, Studio Project B1, or MXL v67G as the first med-quality mic to add to your collection?
The gear I'm getting by with is SM58 and Audio Technica U857Q (which i borrowed from my church
) with a Presonus firestudio mobile. Vocal, Acoustic gtar, and micing amps for the most part.
This is just from what i've trolled the forums to find out... B1 is great versatile mic but bad for vocals, v67 is better for vocals, and of course sm57 can be used for anything.
