If you bash Behringer gear ...

There's a place in the world for every piece of gear and all gear is equal. It's just that some gear is way more equal than others. :D

But TimboZ....I'm a moron, and I've never bashed Behringer gear.....

Man, I'm such a moron..... :p

That is the next thing I am going to buy. I have the V-Amp pro and now I want the Bass V-Amp pro.

I've got a 1222FX-Pro and a denoiser. I'll be the first to admit that the pres suck balls, but the board is solid as a board. The built in EQ is kinda hissy, but I don't use it anyway. Some of the effects are surprisinly usable. The Denoiser thing is less than impressive but serves its purposes, all be they small. I'm heavily debating getting the 4ch compressor too, sue me!

Ah... I've been attacked by the gray chicklet warrior! I love a good brand loyalist. :D And out of respect for such fierce loyalty, I'll share the following.

I do have some Behringer gear. One mixer worked great, then not so great, then died. I had installed it in a church hall where it gets only occasional use - and I will probably have to buy something else to replace it.

Another mixer - a little two banger - went nuts around other equipment but as long as I isolate it the thing does fine. I use it as a down and dirty filter to run a live subwoofer amp. I've also got a pair of active direct boxes. Both work. Both are noisy if I use phantom power. I have not tried batteries in them yet, though and that might do the trick.

In my experience you get an incredible feature set for incredibly low prices. But high build quality of components or an expectation of longevity isn't part of the picture. I'd like to see the company try not to oversell stuff quite so much. And I'd like to see it respect other company designs a bit more than it seems to do. It's gotten bitten lately for riding that line too close.

Can we bash Mackie now? I'm all Behringered out...And I got a noisy, semi-operating 1202 to bitch about...

The day Beringer designs thier boards with cupholders and a built in sprite machine, then I'll think about bumping up the brownie points.

DEAL WITH IT.
