If it's something heavy that you crave

Sorry if this has been covered but;

Thats why it doesnt sound any good. Record it with a mic if you can. I've never had anything good come of direct inputs into computers when it comes to analog guitar signals + pedals. It just kills distortion.

Also putting heaps of distortion isnt always a good move -infact it often isnt. A couple of guitar tracks with lower distortion level sound bigger, beefier and thicker than one really distorted guitar. Strangely enough, high levels of distortion never sound any good! Dont ask me why, but its the truth mate.
Good point. I've been reading up on that and experimenting a little with that lately. Don't apologize for re-covering topics. I'm learning something here. :)

in the way of drums.... nskit free version is good... i like it alot. the lead guitar is really nice but the rythm seems a bit bassy and a bit heavy on the fuzz.

That opening synth is cool. Heh nics riffs, almost Kashmirish. On headphones, it's heavy, but not superhugely. Good mix. Real drums would be nice. 2nd listen I can hear the intro again..good job on the drum programming too, your stuff is quite complex. Good to jam to, I could rock out on this

I used to use nskit a lot and have a copy of the high quality kit before the high-quality became a pay-for and low quality became a free to download. But I didn't like the nskit much since it didn't seem to have the drum kit sound for the heavier sounds. Or maybe it was the drum pattern programmer that I was using (leafDrums) at the time. Which didn't give enough control on velocity and such.

I guess I could try to use nskit with FLStudio4 and see how that works out. :)

Yeah, on the fuzz idea I think there's a consensus now that it should lose some fuzz. I'm learning a lot about different genres and how the guitars are tuned and dist. by playing all these different genres. It's so cool to see how musicians express themselves. A little more dist. and you're emo. A little more and you're heavier. A little more and faster, and you're in metal area. Pretty cool. :)

Thanks for intro comments. That synth mirrors the bassline exactly once the song starts. :) Real drums would be really nice... expensive also... :). Well, the drum programming is getting better, maybe, but it's not the same as a real drummer in this genre would do. So I try to listen and copy patterns as much as I can. :)

Thanks for listening and commenting. :)

All, so we agree that the rhythm needs to be changed. To be cleaned up to be more specific.

Question: Is the tone OK? If I remove some dist./fuzz off the rhythm tone, is that ok, or would it be better to get a new tone altogether.

Also, keeping in mind that I'm not so much going for a metal feel (since that would require a lot more skill to play and other different things). I am more going for a really really heavy rock feel. If it ends up being metal sounding that's fine too. :)

Thanks.

On a separate note, I found out that I can't manage to play the rhythm cleanly now. Something about other pieces being in there that keep making my rhythm very sloppy. Might have to remove all other tracks and try. :)

Typing while listening. Cool intro. Really like the vibe on the leads. No real mix nitpicks as it sounds pretty well done to me. Maybe some mud in the low end but on my ssytem it's not overly dramatic. Again leads are really great throughout. Reall was hoping this would keep going, cause towards the end it just seemed to get better and better. Really liked it man, great playing.

Take care
