Downloading the Mp3... Question- is .wma a better format, ie non compressed?

Listening... the acoustic guitar on the right in the intro seems removed from the mix somewhat. Love the lead guitar sounds, verb and panning.

Vocals could be louder, less verb, more intimate. There's too much reverb in general, but I do like the treatment you have on the guitar picking on the left and right in the verse.

Really nice arrangement. I love the guitar bridge, very cool washy feel.

Work on the vocal sound. Resist the urge to slather in reverb and it will sound a lot better.

But overall, very good. Kind of reminds me of the band GTR. Remember them? Steve Howe?

Sounds really good!
The harmonized guitars were especially nice.

The only thing I would say is,push the acoustic picking back further in the mix.

Nice work!

Pete

BTW-Your voice sounds just like another member around here.
Anybody else hear it?

nice - very late 70's early 80's sounding lead guitar.

What parts did you do??

It's not real drums is it? What did you use.

Yeh the singing is very smooth and unassuming but i'm not sure i like it for this sort of song,.
overall, very nice

Thanks for the listen and comments! Just the kind of info we are looking for.

jjtcorsair: Yes I do remember them and I guess it wouldn't surprise you to hear that Steve Howe is one of my favorite guitarist! :) I consider that a huge compliment!

I think wma is better - smaller file size and better sounding to boot, less artifacts. I was reading another thread about how some of y'all do collaborations. We have found that mp3's do indeed add a few millisecs of silence to the beginning (and maybe end) of tracks. We also use monkey's audio (ape) to send wavs. It is a lossless compression for wav files. Works really well if you have a lead part say halfway thru the song that only runs for a minute, the wav might come out as 25 to 50 meg, the ape comes out to 2 to6 meg with no loss in sound!

muzeman: I know the song as a whole has a lot of reverb, but maybe a little added to the acoustic and then bringing it down a tad would make it sit better.

yiordanaki : I did all the guitars. Kennyb did the bass and Freddyjam wrote the song, did all the vocals and the drums. The drums are actual drum samples and then put together either with fruity loops or something similar. He is a drummer so it is so much better than when I as a guitar player tries to put together a drum kit knowing nothing about playing drums.

hmm think I hit all the questions..... thanks again guys, I really appreciate the feedback.....

oh btw, can someone explain the rating system? does 1 star mean lousy?
