Yo guys. I know I haven’t really made an offering here in a while. I’ve been pretty busy. I hope you like The Flaming Lips because this is a cover of a song off their newer album embryonic. It’s called “If”. I thought it was pretty cool. Anyway, I made a video for it as well. I tried to make the video as a separate piece of art and not just an afterthought of the song. (I hope it falls into the category of art anyway) You guys have always been super nice here and I appreciate it 100%. I hope all my friends are still around here.

Watcha think?

-Adam.

Great job on the recording/performance, as well as the video, the Lips would be proud. Did you use that free isotope plugin for the record scatch sound?

So i'm not familiar with the original, but it's a good song and has that Wayne Coyne nursery rhyme melody which you sing well, and a nice piano sound. No complaints-well done. I was going to cover "superman" myself one of these days....

I love waitn' for superman. Give it a go. I didn't use isotope vinyl. I have in the past and liked it a lot but having changed computers a couple of times the hassle of re-registering just made me want to stop using it. This time around I took a bunch of old records I had sitting around. Most of them were my dad's but a few I had gotten myself. I recorded the run out groove and the silence in between songs on both sides of about 10 or more records and spliced them together. Thanks for the listen!

Adam,
well done in bothe departments.
You capture the plaintive quality of Coyne quite well.
Simple yet emotive & effective.
Yes, the vid would stand on its own but it works very well with the song.
Oblique, obdurate, obscure and has to be obscene to be obheard (a little XTC humour!).

Yep, still here, Adam...;)
It's nice to see you widening your talent, you're very good at making videos and this one fits the song like a glove. Very good editing, it keeps the viewer interested. The recording sounds great, absolutely no nits there. Well done.

Joey :)

Propman lives! :eek::)

Cool, good to hear/see some of your work again.

Not a big fan of the tune myself...although I love the Lips, this one is too sleepy. I haven't heard much since that At War with the Mystics album - you covered one off that disc a while back that was very fun. This sounds good and everything, just not my favorite tune.

The video on the other hand is way cool. The constantly moving camera and playing around with all of the different light sources was effective and I liked how you edited the whole thing. Good job taking everyday items and making them visually interesting.

Thanks buddy! I have to admit I have never heard XTC...I heard them being talked about in a TMBG song though. (XTC vs. Adam Ant) It's a good song. The live version on the Severe Tire Damage album is much better than the studio version though.

Good to hear from you! Thanks for the kind remarks. I'm glad you like my video editing. Check out some of my comedy videos. I made some with my grandma (the pie mystery, the pen, april fools) that everybody seems to like. I'll post them here later if you'd like! Thanks again!

Heat! Great to see you're still around! I've been kind of creatively tapped lately. I've been just kind of creating in spirts. I've been toying with the idea of making a concept style run together type album like SMiLE but stranger. I would post it when I'm done, but posting full albums or even 3 songs at once never seems to go over well here. By the way I got to see the Flaming Lips in march when they came to Denton and did that free show. It was my first time and man they were fantastic. Best show I've ever been to. You need to see them if you ever get the chance. Take care!

They are actually playing this weekend about 10 miles from my home at a huge outdoor festival along with like 50 other bands...but it is super expensive and we don't want to bring the kids and so...I guess I have to miss it...:(

Yes, it is tough to get people to check out multiple songs, but if you do the album, you should at least post some of it or at least let us know. I'd love to hear it.

Ahh that sucks. I really wish you could see them. THey are so good. It was one of the most awesome experienced of my life. But about the album, I'll be sure to let you (and whoever else cares) know.
