That is just TOO damn sweet! I love those video monitors! The Mars Music Store in my area has a PT setup like that, but not quite as nice.

Well.... a Ferrari is nice too, but how many do you see on the road? I am curious to know who they hope to sell these to and how many they hope to move. How big can the market be?

True, and I'm sure they are showing the "top-of-the-line", the "Model Home" all the extras, and all the upgrades, but the site did say "systems starting at under $10,000, financing at around $325 a month." I think that opens their market considerably.

"Fairy tales can come true...It can happen to you...................."

hrm ..

wow .. love it. I'm picking up the whle damn system tomorrow!
ah .. but then I won't be able to afford new strings .. ah well. Guess I'll have to pass on it until my next paycheque.

Wha? They'll sell a TON of these things... the pro market has been waiting for the new ProTools for years now. It will sell, without a doubt, probably initially better than stuff 1/4 the price.

I agree. I knwo people think it's expensive, but somebody out there bought thousands of Pro Tools Mix and MixPlus systems, and the pricing is the same. And no one else is doing 192kHz...

sexy equipment?

I thought sexy equipment was a 2" 24 track studer coupled with a trident mixer(for the project studio anyway) all being converted to digital by those $30,000 stage tec converters.

Damn, they are sexy. I like that buldging rack look. Of course, I've always been into that buldging rack look!

Since at the moment the software still only goes to 48 kHz (no word as to when the update arrives), if you already have a Mix system with outboard converters and a steady clock, the new hardware is just window dressing. The only impetus to buy immediately is the upgrade offer.

Damn!!!!!

Keep my wife or buy pro tools?Hmm!! She doesn't cook or clean, she doesn't have fancy knobs or glowing lights, she doesn't fit neatly in a rack like pro tools, her cpu is a bit outdated, she nags when I purchase anything for the studio!!Damn, tough decisions....
Boy, I'd like to have you but it's that one time a month when she gives me what you cannot,I'm gonna have to stick with the wife.To pro tools my second love, with all your glowing lights, sexy curves, unmistakable ability to bring me happiness every moment that I'm awake I will always remember what life could have been like if only you were in my life say 6 years ago before I took the plunge.lol!!!!!!:D

I'd have to agree watching 2" tape running at 30ips is quite sexy!!I have a buddy that's racking two trimix input strips for me as we speak. That'sclose to a full trident console as I'm going to get.

Are we talking about women here? If so, I'd have to agree!!

Tube - nah, it's too big, too built for show.

Sexy is what gets the job done in economical style.

The Amek Channel in a Box is sexy.

Lucid converters are sexy.

Davisound stuff is sexy.

Cadillacs aren't sexy. :D

Wnat to cry

I just got ripped of for about 10gs. Long story, but...That could have been my new pro tools...Oh well, it will ahve to wait till next year.

Scuse me, that is "WANT" to cry...

BTW, looks like I will be getting paid back after all. So...having thought the money was gone, does that mean if I get it back its extra and I can spend on something like a new Pro Tools set-up. Will my girlfriend see it this way? And, think about the cost of a fucking diamond ring. A good one can cost easily 10gs. IMO it does not even come close to the value of a Pro Tools set up. You can't record a hit song on it, you can't rent it out to other people and get money, you cant' show it off to your MALE friends, you can't sit around late at night, drink beer and think your the coolest thing going. You can't do any fucking thing with the damn ring but get married. Now I ask, how will that effect your equipment jones?

Keep in mind that 10 grand isn't going to get you what you see in that picture! 10 grand is going to buy you a starter Pro Tools system! Like I said before, the picture shows the "full-blown" set-up, the model home, the top-of-the-line deal.
Still, a 10 grand PT set-up is not a bad place to start though.

Phil!! Phil!! Phil!!

You've got a girlfriend, keep it that way if you plan to continue purchasing recording equipment.Back in 1996,I started building my studio piece by piece then comes the let's get married part of the equation. About the same time uncle sam sends me $2500.00 back and my future recording purchases look like a given.Nope, I end up at a diamond store and walk out of there with a mere $300.00 left!!! There goes 1 more year before I can invest in my dream.Well, now it's 2002 and I'm finally where I wanted to be in 1996.Took 6 years to get the equipment that I could of purchased within two years if I stayed a bachelor a little while longer, so you've got to ask yourself are you ready for the sacrifice? My wife is truly a great woman and deserves the world but get the gear before your money turns into ours!!!Hell, if she loves ya buy her a zirconia and by yourself a adat hd24.lol I only wish............
