Hi, Is there any good books to read about recording so i can learn and use as a refrence, kind of like an idiot's guide to recording and could i get it in australia?

Well holmes - I dare say this is a good place to use as an idiots guide. Idiot's lesson one:

Plug it in and press record.

lesson two:

experiment - -trust your ideas, don't be afraid to waste tapes etc...

You can probably learn MUCH about recording via sites like this one or, ONCE IN A WHILE, from the techies at Yamaha, etc.

What I find to be lacking is an information site for the MD-8 by Yamaha because, as usual, the manual is a vacuum after the "get-started pages." [I still can't figure out how to bounce a track on the MD-8.]

Also, you can find books about recording in the quad-zillions on book sites via their search engines. Or, the public library might be of some help. Or, hanging around a good busy retail store might help you pick up scads of "salesman" passed-on information.
