Washburn has been no help identiying this instrument, perhaps someone here knows something about it.

Headstock says "Bantam" and "Designed by "Grover Jackson"

Neck has a "Made in Korea" label.

Neck and bridge pickups are labelled W951 and W953 respectively.

It has a 9 volt battery.

Cool!

Do you know anything abou the pickups? Are they single coil or humbuckers, etc.

It tends to be noisy when recording, I've wondered if changing the pickups would help.

Sorry, I just did a google search to find the info I posted. The pickups are active humbuckers and rely on the 9v battery to power a preamp within the pickup.

lol....wow, some actual humor on this forum. What a pleasant surprise.

The guy from the first website says the tone on his went to crap as time went by, so maybe the pickups arent very rugged. That or try a new battery. The only other thing I saw that I didn't like...and I am not well informed on basses....is that it is a four piece body.

I put a new battery in it when I bought it. I actually like the tone, it's just the noise floor that drives me nuts. I can get rid of most of it by using an eq plug in and rolling off the highs, but when I do that I tend to lose a little definition in the tone.

Anyway, thanks for your research.
