Ideas or opinions on the Allen&Heath GS3 mixer?

I WANT (really WANT) to replace my Behringer mixer, and was looking for a24 ch board...

I would really like to go for a Mackie 24-8 but I cannot seem to find one used...

What about the Gs3 ?

I bought a GS3 a couple of months ago, just went through it to see that everything worked, recorded some basic tracks. I then moved and it's been sitting in my parents' basement. With my limited experience with the sound quality I really can't say if it's better or worse than the Mackie. It has a much nicer EQ than the 1604 VLZ though, for whatever that's worth.
What I can say is that I really like some of the routing features: monitor "kill switch" (great for swift headphone checks), the possibility to switch from my main monitors to a second system with the flick of a switch on the mixer. The 100mm faders are wonderfully smooth too, coming from Behringer-country myself... It has a kind of unorthodox FX/Aux routing but it just needs some getting used to, IMO.
I'll be recording a lot with it this summer, I might just post my findings as it seems that not very many people have used this board (especially in the US).

Allen and Heath rocks. Mixers should be made in England.
