Idea for nowhereradio . . .

I think we should have the option to disable the "low-fi" download option when posting material.

On more than one occasion, I've had someone listen to my stuff on "low-fi" and tell me it sounded like garbage. :D :D :D


Of course, some listen to them on hi-fi and say the same thing, but then I at least know it has some merit. :D

I've tried that idea out in the past. Problem is that modem users get extremely upset when they can't stream a tune...

For critiquing, sure, it's great to be able to remove the lo-fi, but there is people out there that listen to listen...

That's their fault. They need to get with the times. I used to get extremely upset back when I couldn't get laid. Then I started wearing deodorant, taking showers and I even got myself a job. Needless to say, it's opened a whole new world up for me. :D
 
75% of the world population doesn't have access to high speed my friend ;) They don't got a choice, unless they have a few million to lay their own lines.

Low fi play is better than no play. anyone who listens in lo fi should know to make the adjustments to the expected result and if you have a really full recording up there low fi users can never appreciate so adjust your sensitivity accordingly!

I lost my hi speed a while back when the dsl company went out of business and I still enjoyed listening on lofi/// also you can allways download the ones you really want to hear. Some songs you dont want hear at all.

If I was to make a suggestion it would be to allow nowhere users to have a say in what genre is correct and perhaps a dont waste your time vote/warning area!! some people list things as pop/rock that should be GRUNGE. they list headbanger as alternative..they list folk as easy listening and jazz as who knows what because the jazz lookup link doesnt work.

To tell you the truth there are times when I comment on genres I really dont understand/appreciate and pool the expected result into what my expectations are. Then I think, what right have I to say that those tin can sounding drums sound like garbage, when its actually the style which makes it the preferred sound!!

PS I was sure glad I got the hi/fi back after 3 months without it!!!!

NWR4 has almost 100 genres, and I'm planning on asking a few people to volunteer for 'moderation' duties, to ensure tracks are placed in proper genres, etc...

It`s not their falult when they live 1800 ft too far away from a switch for DSL and cable hasn`t been ran yet, which is my case. I still listen anyways on hi-fi if its sounding like a full flavored pie. :)
 
As far as I'm concerned, if you're living in hickville . . . or some third-world country that doesn't have high-speed internet access, then you need to move somewhere that does ! ! !

. . . or suffer the inevitable consequences. :D :D :D

Hey, we got insulated wires on our poles down here a while back, so cable should be just a round the corner!
