Who played this toki? This is some strong happy slide blues.Nice bounce to the whole thing.Reminds me a little of "Mississippi Kid" by Skynyrd. They cut that one in Muscle Shoals. How did he record this?Sounds great bro.

Ahhhh yes.... :)

Hangin' out, having some beers, just kickin' it and watching the clouds go by....

Very, very cool!

:D

Kramer, He`s my other brother if I had another. I`ll ask him about the mics and any effects. The rest is a chair in the garage studio, a 8 buss Mackie and Otari Rava II with Logic, and a G-3.

Real Nice Toki

I used to do this stuff (kinda) sittin on a bluff with a few friends.....

Completely frickin gassed!

An excellent recording, almost sounds too real.
Maybe a bit hot, but great!!!!

Drinkin' moonshine.Growing weed inbetween the cornrows.Bisquits and gravy in my gut.Yea,this is really a fun song.Well recorded, too.I tried to learn the harmonica and can still only play hot cross buns and oh suzanna.Your bro is a great slide player.

BTW -there's a gift to you in my Sab.Collab thread.

Right on!

It does remind me of something you might hear on a Skynyrd album.

Good tune, good sounds. Thanks for postin' that bro!:)

Ha! Great tune. It would be cool to hear some vox at some point, but it holds up decent as an instrumental. Very "in your face" mix - feels like they're right there in the room with me.

Cool!
Chris

good deal.. It sounded just like I pictured.. This is a great recording as well as the playing..

Stephen King's 'The Stand' had an Ida May in it.. She was sitting on the front porch doing needle point.. I think she turned out to represent God at the end!

Oh Ida May,

where ya been.....

down at the levee....drinkin' gin?

left your chillen's....
young and small.....
without their mammy.....
without no one at'all.....

all alone.....
no one ta home..

busted windows....broke down shack...
when ya goin' home...when ya comin' back....

Ida May....
oh....Ida May....
young and restless...
some day yer gonna have ta pay....
and that day is comin' on......
Oh Ida May........

Good tunage man,

Joe :D

Kramer, I asked him about the mics and effects, so this is what he said back...

"I used a neve mic pre and a neuman km84 on the acoustics, and it's
my adk T-51 tube mic through the neve pre on the vocal. The harp was
recorded with the mackie mic pre and the electric slide was recorded direct
through my old bassman head using a palmer DI. What you are hearing is not
the final mix just my rough. I did those bluse pieces for xxxxxxxx
library....they are supposed to get mixed very soon."

hehehe thanks man. yall dont look that sinister and dangerous at all!! :)

WOW....this is good man.
And I was wondering how he got that great sound.....well crap, A Neve pre and a Neuman.....geez, must be nice.

Very cool Toki.

Well, I suppose you already knew I'd love this one! Your bud is a really good player--I love the sound of that dobro. The recording is just great too. The sound is so rich and sweet--meaty lows and mids and sweet treble--not bright or boomy, but just very musical. This is the "sound" I've been looking for. If it takes a Neve pre to get it, I am going to wrangle one for myself somehow.
