I went to a guy's house to see his hand made guitars - wow.

Taking the slow road
His setups are insane too, 1/32th of an inch at 12th fret and not buzz at all.

He makes semi-hollow bodies and solid wood parts, cured. Insane sounds, very cool. Carvin pickups. Takes him 6 weeks each if he rushes. Expensive.

My brother recently got into this... I can't imagine the learning curve to attempting something like this, so I'm sure it will be a while before I get my custom baritone 7 string :D

Have him make me a lefty with 24 frets and one single humbucker and one volume knob! No tremolo, bolt-on neck, strings through the saddle, not the body! I want it painted with that car paint that changes colors in different lighting.

Just kidding, I couldn't afford the strings for it right now! :D

EXACTLY!!!

The taint of the 80's is still upon us, though it has lessened a bit and there are many nice non-whammybar alternatives...

The paint thing is a cool idea BTW

Just so you know

Carvin offers that finish. It's called 'prismatic'.

I'll have to look at that when I can afford to have G.A.S!!!

I was thinking about the sounds from those guitars of his, when I got home and played my stuff, well, I used to like my gear, but now it all sucks. He also had a Mesa Boogie 4 tube amp, that thing is awesome 45 watts, and a small Marshall combo, also nice. Those tones were sweet!!

I had that same issue when I went to visit my dad and had been playing a Yamaha acoustic for a couple years (great tone, nice action), then got to fiddle with his Martin... It's a right handed guitar and I'm a lefty, so I didn't do too much with it, obviously, but that tone.... I didn't like my Yamaha for a long time after that....
