so I recorded "lovesong" by The Cure, last night. download it if you want. I think I got a pretty good sounding recording here. Please comment on the mix if you'd like.

Hey Ametth: Nice work on that cover. From your post- which I obviously misread, I thought you were remixing some bootleg Cure
track. I'm no big Cure fan, but I like their stuff and your cover passed for them quite well.
Now I <really> want to hear your studio stuff.
 
Wow. I'm very impressed man. I don't like the Cure too much, but no matter. Sounded great! Damn, at least through these little headphones (I'm at work) it sounded extremely professional. Are you sure you did that in one night? :)

Okay ametth, that is you. I had a Cure fan verify to me that it is a cover. But I am confused... Why art thou here? You have got your shit wired tight! I just noticed such a difference between your first post and this one... Do you have a split personality?
 
I guess I do have a split personality. It's alot easier to sing in the studio than in front of a bunch of people. I guess when I play live I'll have to get over my hangups.

I guarantee that the studio stuff I record will be better than the live show right now. I guess a good live show comes with time + practice.

Nice Job guy ! I've never heard the original song, so I don't know what to compare it to,
but it doesn't really matter . . . You have a good voice . . . good mix . . . four stars !

PAPicker, thanks for the compliment on my voice, I've never thought of myself as having a good voice, but it's cool that someone likes it.

Slack: yes it took about six hours to record and mix everything. Mixing and recording the voice took the most time though. I'm pretty good at playing my instruments, so most of those were the first take.

I really cant wait to post some of my own music though...

That was very well done. Very good mix, sounding and you're vocals sounded really good. I too want to hear your band as well, since I was impressed by your live sound and how well your band played.
