Hey. I've been 100% positive about getting an Alesis Multimix 16 Firewire when it comes time to start my studio. However, If I eventually mic up my whole drum set, it'll take up all 8 XLR inputs. I would like 2 more for 1 to be fore vox and leaving the last 1 open or use it for amp micing.
How else could I get FireWire action with 10 XPR inputs for $600 or less? Here was my idea. Could I get an M-Audio Audiophile Firewire Recording Interface and a Behringer Eurorack UB2442FX-PRO mixer, and use RCA out of the mixer and into the Firewire interface? Would that still give me the Firewire capabilities to record say 10 tracks at once and have 10 individual tracks show up on Cubase? Or due to the RCA to the interface, would it be like recording 10 tracks into 1 stereo track?
Well, that's my idea. It'll save me about $100 or so if it would work how I want it to. If it wouldn't work, then I wouldn't bother doing it. I just want 10 XLR inputs on my mixer, but still want the Firewire ability to record all tracks as their own tracks.
Thanks.
