I turn off my monitors and then.....

...POP! This is rediculous! I just once again turned off my monitors, and once again a loud POP came out of the left one. It scares the shit out of me and doesn't sound like it's doin the speaker any good. I need help! All I wanna do is turn off my lousy monitors.

Transients through the system are pretty normal when you turn things on or off in the chain. Keep the levels down when you turn things on or off.
 
this is the set up

I have the amp level in the back half way (-5 dB), and the volume knobs in the front FULL. I controll the sound output through my mixer. Is that bad? And yes, they are Event PS5s Powered.

Turn EVERYTHING down before you turn your monitors off.

How about for the Yorkvilles ysm1p? It does the same thing for even after shutting everything else down. I once heard that it could be the cables I am using. If that's true then what are good monitor cables?
 
Did the same thing one time with my Mackies when I turned off my DAW and didn't turn the soundcard volume all the way off and turn off each speaker manually with the on/off button....

scared the livin' piss out of me. Only made that mistake once.
