and you know what else? I was over at the thrift store a while ago and there was a stack of lp's and you can't tell me that that stuff is on CD's no way.
I can't belive I didn't pick them up, I actually think I'm gonna get out tonight, it may be too late by now tho, so as soon as I can, I'm going back there and getting some gems for cheap.
Now, I need a new cartridge for my Technics sl-bd20, any reccomends?

I still have all of my vinyl from back in my mobile DJ days. You remember those days? Before crazy people started "scratching" everything in sight in addition to themselves. 
Actually, I guess I should be grateful to those lunatics, because thanks to them, turntable availability and quality have jumped dramatically in the past few years. Ten years ago, who'd have ever thought of a turntable with a digital output? Who'd have ever thought that turntables would still be so readily available?
And to sort of add to what timmerman said... yes, there will come a day when turntables will be scarce and very expensive. Just look at the current reel to reel tape deck market if you need an example.

My bro in law had 2,000 lp's then he started replacing quite a few w/ CD, and getting rid of some lp's, just recently he was over here and asked me if some of mine were his that he gave me, but they weren't. So I guess he stopped and misses his old friends.

I spin the old black records. I spin brand new black records as well.
2 technics 1200 M3Ds and a Stanton Str8 100 all fronted with high end shure cartridges running through a Allen and Heath Xone:92(mixer) attached to a Behringer Composer Compressor(acting as a limiter) then two Hafler DH500 amplifiers in bridged mode for 1000 watts of power(@ 4 ohms) to each Infinity QLS1 speaker which stand five feet 10 inches tall and weigh in at 155 pounds piece packing in 16 drivers a piece.
The sound is pristine and when I put on a CD the difference is quite noticeable in a not so good way.
