i ordered this computer: (so now whats next)

alright guys, i finally ordered a computer.

-Samsung SC152LEB 52X CD-ROM Retail
-SAMSUNG 1.44MB FLOPPY DRIVE Model# SFD321B/LEB
-MAXTOR 60GB 7200RPM Model # 6L060J3 -D740X
-Crucial Micron 512MB 64x64 PC2100 DDR RAM, 184-Pin, CL=2.5-Unbuffered 2.5V, 6-Layers
-Microsoft Optical Wheel Mouse PS/2 & USB - OEM
-3COM 905CX-TXNM PCI 10/100 Network Card *No Wake-Up* - OEM
-AMD Athlon XP 1800+/266 FSB PROCESSOR CPU - RETAIL
-LEADTEK GEFORCE 2 MX200 32MB VGA - OEM
-Asus A7V266-E motherbaord

this totals to about 550 (a little less). However, i still need a case from my local store.

in addition, i'll be ordering a DELTA44 from musicians friend for $230.


Lastly, when this all arrives - where can i find a webpage where it says how to configure your comp for audio? For example, how to partition, overclocking?, graphics use, ram usage, etc. etc..

There's an article on prorec.com (which appears to be down at the moment) about setting up a DAW. Also, don't worry about overclocking - you're not gonna see huge gains with that CPU, and the stability tradeoff will definitely not be worth it.

Anyway, don't you think you should have got a CD burner?
 
Hey I've got a Delta44 sitting around here that I'm not using anymore. I'll give it to you for $190 + shipping (10 bucks?). I think I've got the software too...Logic Delta, some shareware crap, and a couple instruments. It's in fine shape, used it for about a year before getting the 1010. Non-smoker. Don't have the original box though. I'll guarantee it not to be DOA for 14 days after you receive it.

Lemme know if you're interested. If you don't want it I'm just going to ebay it.

and elevate - i will have the computer networked to a Dell P4 - and that has a burner on it.

i've searched that tascam website time and time again, with no luck in finding those articles...and chance you could try a more specific link? thanks..lol
