Okay. I got a decision.

Flat out, Event TR8s, or Wharfedale 8.2a

I produce and engineer hip hop and urban style music mostly...

I have enough for TR8s but I hear the Wharfedales are fucking beautiful. I hear the TR8s are fucking beautiful...so im torn between the 8 inch driver and trusted through many friends - and the flat highly held Britains favorite loudspeaker.

You let me know. I have till this Saturday to decide. I can either get the TR8s, or the Wharfedale 8.2a.

Your 2 cents will be appreciated.

For Me , I went with the Wharfedale 8.2a's . . . and since, what I have finished has sounded more natural to me . . . with that said, I think that having a quality monitor, will help in just about all instances.
Quality , in this instance can be a subjective thing , for Our Ears are all different, and We will all hear differently.

if your doing hip hop adn urban stuff, you probably need the bass to be very accurate. so i would go with the tr8's because of the 8 inch speaker.
although id waight for some more expierianced members to chime in.

I'd REALLY recommend going and listening to them. It doesn't matter what anyone else says as long as you can trust them and use them. I listened to the Wharfedales, didn't think they were all that. I listened to the Alesis M1As, and although the bass was flabby I could hear a lot more around the middle and upper range that was just straight missing on the Wharfedales.

I can live with the bass being flabby on my monitors ... and I also know what to listen for when it comes to upgrading them. Out of half a dozen sets I demoed repeatedly, I got the ones that worked the best for me.

The ideal would be to take both sets home and A/B them in your room. How they react with your space matters much more than which is "better". The 8" drivers might be too much for a smallish room. Can you buy both from a store with a returns policy on a credit card, make it clear that you'll be bringing one set back?

Nuh uh. I can't afford to buy both. Plus the TR8s I am getting from GC. I was also thinking about the KRK RP8s. The wharfedales I was going to order from music123. Deepwater seems to have his site down, he doesn't answer or return phone calls, and the last email I sent him hasn't been replied, and I don't have a paypal account.

=\

Any help before Saturday? (Saturday = D-day, Monitor purchasing day)

beings you added in the RP8's.....

SStudiophile B5"er's and a sub at 80hz cross = hip hop.

I hear their sweet in clarity and can go all the way down, thumpin.

hmmmmmmmmm, hiphop? id get the KRKs. Then the TR8s, then the Wharfedales. Even tho I think the wharfedales are better speakers all-around.
