Aark24 vs Layla24 vs Roland Studio Pack
Ive been looking into recording/editing with my computer. I think Ive narrowed the audio cards down to three: The Aark24, Layla24, and the Roland Studio Pack. I dont really need all the inputs, as much as I do the outputs, and midi. Though the inputs wont go to waste. Im really interested in editing. I produce hip hop/R&B. I really want to polish up alot of rough drafts ideas cut, paste, and tweek them. I think I'll use Cakewalk for this. I think the Aark24 comes with something called Samplitude Basic $600. The Layla24 comes with Cool Edit Pro $700. The Roland Studio Pack comes with Emagic Logic RPC $700. Anyone have any opinions, and or experience with these three audio cards, and their software?
Any feedback is appreciated!

If you don't need alot of inputs, get a cheapo card with s/pdif inputs and get a Lucid 2 channel A/D converter. Much better quality sound.
I think the Aark 24/96 has the same converters and stuff, as the Aark 24 and plenty of outputs, and is cheaper, and has 4 mic inputs.
I'd take the Aark over the others IF i wasn' gona get the Lucid. You could have the lucid and a cheap card for about $700 I think. That might not be a good quote though... look it up...
