i know this is MP3 mixing clinic but i already posted this one on the songwriter forum. If this is a SPAM for you just ignore all that relates about "finding songwriter". just concentrate on how i mix this very short demoor click directly the link below to hear my music.

anybody wana collaborate with me? im 8 years musician and an amatuer recording engineer. if anybody can write me some light rock/alternative lyrics like matchbox20, U2, five for fighting, michelle branch. OR you can send me some of your demo light rock songs and i will make it better. i make music kind of michelle branch style. im gonna let you hear short recordings of mine without lyrics and vocal coz i dont know how to write and i dont have a professional voice. just listen on how the way i record music especially rythm and harmony thnx

Ok, i listened the the "mastering sample" song..

Good job of capturing that commercial rock feel in the recording, it does remind me of a matchbox20 type of band. No major production nits, but i would like to say that i think the kick has too much of an electronica feel. If you're going for commercial rock I think the kick needs to feel more organic.

Cool

Hey i really like the sound of this.
If you want, i can wright some lyrics and take a shot at singing it.
Post the full mp3 so I can download it and give it a try.

Sounds very good. I presume those aren't real drums? How did you do the acoustic? It sounds very nice.

to khomp: hey i change the kick already. maybe this one sounds better. :)

to branded: this song is really that short. i didnt finish this one coz i dont know how to write. if you can sing with it, i can make it longer but sometimes when you sing, you may think of changing some chords that runs into it. but we will try if that works. just email me at benison_jerberson@hotmail.com

to canopus: ok dude, il share some of it.

Drums are not real. It came from everything. Hithats and crash are from Drumkit From Hell. Snare is from Xtreme Drums SAmples. Kick came from DrumWaves 2000 Drum Samples.

Electric Guitar from the left pan: Only Yamaha RGS121 (Cheap) with Boss Gt-3 Multi-Effects(Cheap too)

Acoustic Guitar is Fender DG-11E (Cheap $199) with internal pickup. Acoustic Guitar Lead on the center pan is mic with MXL2003 condenser (Cheap too), compressed. Theres an acoustic guitar strummming recorded with the same mic and compressed and stereo panned. Another Strumming acoustic guitar on another track but using the internal pickup on my guitar directly to my mixer to soundcard and no amps. another lead acoustic guitar at the right pan using internal pickup again and direct. All acoustic guitar are EQed Bass Cut, meaning all the first Bass frequency are turned down. Total of 4 track on acoustic guitar.

My bass guitar is Johnson Bass (Cheap too) direct to mixer. No amp. Bass track is EQed High Freq cut and turned all the way up all the bass frequency.

Hope that will help.

hmm I might be able to help you I'm not really a singer, but I've written some decent songs that I have trouble coming up with music to.

Here are a couple of takes of me singing acapella they are both dry and like I said I'm not really a singer, but with a little eq and verb I do think my voice can be decent.

two quick takes of the same song
