Alright, so I am looking for the following cables. I was wondering what you guys recommended for the best bang for buck cables. Here's what I need

2x 20' Mic Cables
2x 1'-3' TRS (M-M) Cables
3x 10' TRS (M-M) Cables
1x 15'-20' TRS (M-M) Cables

So what do you guys think I should get and where should I get them? I don't have a ton of money so I really can't afford to go all mogami or monster cable unless you know of a place that sells them at an incredible price. Thanks in advance everyone~!

Well, I’ve been buying the more expensive cable brands but I don’t know why. The debate on whether they really make a big difference will go on for many more centuries. If my budget was real tight, I would probably look to Whirlwind for a few things. They make more than just snakes. I’ve always been under the impression that they made good quality products. Go to some place like http://www.samedaymusic.com and do a search for “Whirlwind”. You’ll likely find a few things on your list at a moderate price.

Also Musician's Friend has a store name brand that is really cheap but I don't know how good they are.

Good Luck.

I'm expecting to take a beating for this but,....http://www.pulsartech.net/product/P150MC.

That's as cheap as I've found them. I have to admit I did buy a bunch of them for beaters and I just had to know if at this price if they could work. I have some...they work. Some of the folks on this forum with loftier budgets would slap you back for going this route but if you're as tight on the budget as you say, I can suggest these. There are a couple distributors on Ebay pushing this line as well.

Good luck. :D

I'm using a MusicianFriend branded guitar cable. Works OK, no problems so far.. I recommend it at least.

I'm still at the disposable cable stage myself and have been using MF cables, more for live sound than anything else. You have to keep a close eye on them; I've had some problems with people stepping on them and sending crackling through the mains. I had to go through and pull two or three - all were less than a year old. Resoldering the ends fixed it, but that's what you get with entry level stuff.

I've had pretty good luck with Jade, and so far my Hosa's haven't quit - yet. But it's just a matter of time. I'm going to have to do the bulk quad thing pretty soon and build some supercables, unless I can hornswoggle JGourd into building some for me... Those suckers would outlast my grandchildren.

It would be a good idea to get a cable tester and check each cable in a regular basis.

I have been using the $5 Musicians Friend cables (both mic and instrument) for over a year or more, without any problems. I bought about 20 of each, and have yet to have a problem with one of them yet. Plus, I don't find a problem with sound degradation either. They might crackle if you really shake them, and they are on the skinny size...but for the price, you can't beat them. I have used them live and in my studio also.

Same good results here for MF cables. I have a bunch of different ones (mic and instrument) and all work fine with no issues.

Ok, so I have done some pricing and I can get the TRS cables in Hosa brand with 2 Horizon Mic cables for 60 bucks plus shipping. I can get everything in Horizon brand for 115 plus shipping. Now I don't know if there is going to be a 55 dollar difference between these cables. I am not in my studio using it daily, and when I am in the studio I am ungodly careful with my equipment. So do you guys think I should get the Hosa Cables, or drop an extra 55 bucks for the horizon stuff?

Get the Hosa. I use Hosa cables in almost every install I do and they hold up just fine. The main thing you want is a sold connector. You'll never hear the differance.

you may not hear the difference, but I have seen many Hosa cables go bad that weren't really moved around alot. First off, I would avoid molded plastic tips. I have just had more than my share of bad experiences with Hosa products.

alright, well I ordered Mogami Silver series mic cables with hosa brand TRS cables. So hopefully I won't have any issues :)
