I need quick help

Hi everybody. I just got interested in recording the many songs that i have already written. All i need is advice to get started. I'm gonna buy a music or beat creating software but i also want to know what to get in order to have my vocals on the track.

If you are on a laptop, get a firewire soundcard, very basic like the presonus firebox.

If you are on pc, I suggest something in the m-audio line like the audiophile sound card with a audio buddy preamp.

You will also need a mic, which is very hard to tell you what to get since I have no idea what your voice sounds like.

Basically, do some research on :
-Sound cards
-Preamps
-Microphones

That's for the hardware, I suppose the software is already taken care of.
