Some eq will also help. You will probably need to take down certain frequencies a few db.

I dont have a compressor, i have a preamp only, no mixer

my song is there

do the vocals sound ok to you, they sound too, "there" for me not profesional quality

Well, to be honest, the high ends really suck in the mix. its too bassy and boomy. u gotta EQ it out a bit. use a high pass filter in the software ur using.

i agree that the background music is louder than vocals, or your vocals are softer...either way. BUT i dont think it sounds bad... to me, (and i trully know NOTHING) but to me, your voice is pretty crisp and clear, just lower than music....so change if you can, lower music, or raise vocal volume.

one more question.. i just request added you on myspace (Lisardo).....can you tell me how to upload your own songs to your page as i would like to put my demo shit up

alright joker

keep up the good music

Don't record in your garage. Record in a closet or bathroom with blankets over the door and shower.

hey smart! so the better you keep sound from traveling/bouncing/vibrating to a minimum, the better ???????

or hows doee that concept work?

what if i made a booth anyone have any thing about that ??
i was thinking like thick woood with carpet in the inside and foam too ??

THe microphone might be a good thing to upgrade....it is the first link in the audio chain and it sounds a bit distant.

I've used a hall way before, a lot different than a closest or room sound.

I would recommend testing out different parts of the house.

BTW, you can get some good foam cheap by using bed cover foam that people use for back support.

What mic did you use and did you really record it in the garage?

The closet approach ain't always the best approach. First step would be to dampen the closet with dense materials such as foam, blankets and other sorts of stuff. Talk to yourself in the closet, and notice any echoes or flutters. This is how i did it. Also, make sure not to over-dampen or deaden the closet too much or else it will sound very unnatural when recorded.

First off , i cant afford to upgrade my microphone its good alot better then my old and a good mic. (B1 Behringer Condensor) yes i do record in my garage, i dont have any other space to put it....
------------- <<<< thats the carpet i have setup
mic and thats where the mic is

umm..i think i need a compressor because i can get good vocals sound but i cant get loud because it'll pass the 0 db mark and sound terrible...

is a compressor the answer ??
