Ok, I made a post earlier but I don’t know why no one can realy help me. Any way I am real Idiot when it comes to this stuff. My set up Is A Fender 32 Channel Board I got used works real nice for live sound 1 set of 4 drum mics (SuperLux) a portable UHF vocal microphone (Shure) I found. 2 over head Drum mics (Nady) I got on clearance, a no name vocal mic, a radio shack vocal mic, and a radio shack instrument mic (I use it to mic guitars). I have a new work station dual Pentium II 700 mhz, with a sound blaster live drive with 2 analog ports 1 spdif 1 digital and 2 some odd midi ports. I have two MTX PA speakers hooked to a mackie 1400 amp. I connect the mixer with a gold plated monster cable into the analog ports. All the mics are xlr and 1 and a quarter inch jacks and go in to my board. My room is in the basement of a party house where they hold weddings. I Have one room covered with carpet padding but no real wall (no wood) and the other is open to a basement with a lot of chars around helping to kill the sound. I am trying to record a Punk band right now it’s a wrap around Kit with 5 toms ant 14 some odd cymbals 2 snares 2 hi hats 2 guitars one going through a line six distoration pedal to a crate 150 watt amp. (I mic that with my instrument mic.) The bass goes into my board dry. There are 3 singers 1 is on my portable system and the others are on my vocal mics. The keyboard is just plugged in dry to my board like the bass. I Use the eq on my board to adjust sound I do it live but I use cake walk so they add tracks as they like. Still my recordings sound dry http://rosematter.com/Music/ has an example of one I did last week. It has a lot of annoying things about it plus it’s a real audio file so it is kinda scratchy. I real need some ones help. These guys are my friend and they don’t have the money to go to a real studio, and I don’t charge but it dose not sound good, so they are all risking being kicked out of there home or apartments to skip rent and go to a real studio, drag me along with them so I can learn more so they don’t have to play much. I know how to do live shows… that’s about it I have always wanted to record and have been trying to do it for over a year now and have learned a lot, Please help me.
