Similar to a previous post... but not! I have a Fostex FD-8 which can only record 2 inputs at the same time(works in stereo). I require 6 minimum for live band recording. I read somewhere that you can expand the tracks you can record simultaneously with a analog/ADAT converter. Basically I am close to buying on ebay(4 hours left) and would like to know how this would work with my recorder because the inputs on the converter are RCA, do I need pre-amps for mic use into this?? Can I run all mics into the recorder and use the onboard storage etc by using the optical in/out? Ultimately I need to record 7 instruments/mics at the same time. Any help would be very appreciated!
