could sombody tell me what the heck kind of sound this is?


i'm looking for a guitar amp model. it's has to be a super distorion
sound...real crunchy....muted.....let me try to give you an idea...

it's used in alot of fast modernday rock. it was used in the song... "basket case" by greenday

does anyone know that sound and if thay do can thay help me?

this is the only eqip listing I could pulll of the net, Which probably doesnt get you much closer to the basket case sound, but its something. Chances are hes using a marshall head with the "blue" strat copy. As to his distortion pedal, dunno.

Billie uses a Fernandes Stratocaster copy he calls "Blue".
On Nimrod he also used some Gibson's, some old Les Pauls, an ES-355, and ES-135 and a Fender Jaguar.
He also made a guitar he call's "Frankenstein" because it is a combination of several different parts purchased at a Fender shop.
Has a Seymour Duncan humbucker added to Blue.
Mainly plays through a modified Marshall amp.
The amp he uses on Dookie is most commenly reffered to as the 'pete' amp and can be seen most noticably at the Woodstock concert, it has 'pete' written across it.
On Nimrod he used a Fender Bassman, a Hiwatt, and a Leslie.
