I would like to help, but I am already working on 3 other peeps' studio sites.
Try FrontPage, it's a program made for anyone to build a site, if I recall correctly.
If just a "simple" site, use MS Word, save for web, there you have text. Then use Dreamweaver, FrontPage, BBEdit, or whatever to insert images. Learn one of them, and you will soon be able to build a fairly decent site.

What kind of site are you looking for? An e-commerce site? A site to display your work? A personal website.
A1 had it right, Frontpage is the simplest one to use, but if you don't want to screw with it, let me know what you want and I'll give you a few ideas.

I can design a sig easily.Is it for another baord cuz BBS has the sig function enabled...
About affordable hosting..Try www.powweb.com .Their very reliable and their servers are dedendable.Uptime is like 98%.500mb is the space you get..Larget sites dont use that much... Its 7.77$ a month..Pay a yearly total and $15 for registering ya name..
You can get a free website like geocities or cjb but they;ll barrage your site with ads...
